This week’s post will be brief for reasons I hope will become clear momentarily. On Monday, June 3, I’ll be attending the Emerging Trends in Nursing Conference at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. It will not be the first time I’ll have attended the conference, and I’m looking forward to learning from the experience–and collecting a few continuing education contact hours as well. Equally as important, I hope to reconnect with former faculty members and acquaintances from IWU and elsewhere in nursing.
Although I’ve attended multiple conferences at IWU in the past, none of them has taken place since I began publishing this blog. This time around, I’d like to try my hand at live-tweeting my experience. I know the conference is a small regional one-day affair, and by live-tweeting from the conference I hope to extend the reach of the conference and offer my thoughts on what I’ll be learning. I also plan to post a summary and debriefing of the conference later this week.
So, this week will be a departure from my typical once-a-week posting pattern. I’ll be trying something new, and I hope you’ll stick with me and enjoy my conference coverage. If all goes well, I’ll be covering other conferences in the future, as scheduling permits. I hope to pique your interest and would enjoy any conversations that arise from the topics I highlight.
